Every module and lesson

44 lessons, each with a practical step, and a short quiz at the end of every module.

Module 1: How print on demand works on Etsy

Before you design anything, get clear on who does what in a print on demand sale, where it sits inside Etsy's rules, and whether it suits the way you want to work.

  • What print on demand is, and who does what
  • Where print on demand fits Etsy's rules: designed by you, not drop shipped
  • What print on demand makes easy, and what it makes harder
  • A go or no-go check before you spend anything

Module 2: What you can and cannot sell

Print on demand only works on Etsy when the design is yours to sell. This module covers what "original" means in practice, who carries the risk when a rights owner complains, the items and shop names Etsy rules out, and designs made with artificial intelligence tools.

  • What "your original design" means in practice
  • Rights in your design: who is responsible when there is a report
  • Prohibited items, and shop name rules
  • Designs made with artificial intelligence tools

Module 3: Choosing a design tool, and reading its license

The program you design in has its own rules about what you may sell. This module helps you separate the editor from its content library, walks through what Kittl's license says, marks what is still unknown for other tools, and explains why selling an unedited template is a risk on Etsy.

  • The editor and the library: two different questions
  • Kittl's license, read plainly
  • Tools we did not check, and how to read a license yourself
  • Templates and ready-made designs: why "unedited" is a risk

Module 4: Designing products people want to buy

A design sells when it fits a person and a moment. This module turns your ideas into a small, well-planned set of products, with print files checked against your provider's guide and personalization handled with care.

  • Start from a buyer and an occasion, not a blank shirt
  • Print files that print well: check your provider's file guide
  • Building a small collection, with sensible variants
  • Personalized designs: when the buyer customizes

Module 5: Choosing a print provider on facts, not rankings

There is no official best print provider, and this course won't invent one. This module walks through what each provider's own Etsy pages say, what they leave out, and how to build a comparison sheet from your own account. Any prices in this module are examples only, so check each provider's current pricing in your own account or calculator.

  • What to compare before you sign up
  • Printful, Printify and Gooten: what their Etsy pages say
  • Gelato and CustomCat, and why SPOD is not on the list
  • Your comparison sheet (no winner, on purpose)

Module 6: Opening your shop and connecting your provider

Set up your Etsy shop in the right order, connect one provider by the rules that provider states, steer clear of the edits that break the link, and hold a real printed product before you list it.

  • Open your Etsy shop first, on the web
  • Connecting a provider: the rules each one states
  • Sync traps: what breaks the link between your shop and your provider
  • Ordering a sample before you list

Module 7: Production partners, disclosed correctly

When a company prints your design, Etsy asks you to say so. This module walks through what counts as a production partner, how to add one step by step, what name buyers see, and where provider instructions part ways with Etsy's own page.

  • What Etsy counts as a production partner, and what it does not
  • Adding a production partner, step by step
  • The name buyers see: legal name or descriptive title
  • What providers tell you to type, and where it clashes with Etsy

Module 8: Listing a print on demand product

Your provider can send a product into your shop, but the listing is yours. This module covers drafts and the listing fee, the "How it's made" details, photos, and the words buyers read before they order.

  • Drafts, publishing and the listing fee
  • The "How it's made" details and your description
  • Photos and mockups: what Etsy's image rules allow
  • Titles and descriptions that set honest expectations

Module 9: Pricing so each sale pays you

A print on demand price has to cover your provider's bill and every Etsy fee before a cent of it is yours. This module walks through each fee, runs the arithmetic on made-up prices, and hands you a worksheet you fill in from your own provider account.

  • Every Etsy fee that touches a print on demand sale
  • Building a price from the bottom up (with blanks, not guesses)
  • Free shipping, shipping charges and what they do to your price
  • The occasional fees: Offsite Ads, currency conversion and the regulatory fee

Module 10: Processing time, shipping and orders

Your provider prints and ships, but Etsy holds you to the ship-by date. This module shows you how to set processing and shipping so the dates buyers see are true, and how to follow each order on its way to your provider.

  • Processing profiles and the ship-by date: it is still yours
  • Ship-from location and shipping profiles when a partner ships
  • How an order flows from Etsy to your provider
  • Buyers in other countries: what to check before you switch it on

Module 11: Your launch plan

You have the pieces. This module puts them in order: a small first launch, a checklist to run before every publish, a weekly routine, and a dated list of things to re-check before you rely on them.

  • Your first listings: a small, tested start
  • The pre-publish checklist
  • A weekly routine that catches problems early
  • What to re-check before you rely on it
