Etsy Shared Access is live. You can invite up to five people to help run your shop on their own Etsy accounts, instead of texting your password to a VA, a partner, or seasonal shipping help. If you already sell at volume, that is a real ops change, not a cosmetic About-page update.

This is not the old Shop team block on your About page
For years, Shop Manager let you list names and roles on your About page. That was public storytelling. It never handed anyone a login. If you needed help with orders or messages, the usual workaround was password sharing, which breaks two-factor authentication and leaves your bank details one click away.
Shared Access is a different tool. It is a native invite flow under Shop Manager, then Settings, then Shared access. Teammates accept on Etsy.com with their own account. Etsy says you can remove access anytime, and you can download CSV activity for messages, orders, and listings.

Watch out: Every teammate gets the same access level. There is no role picker for "messages only" versus "listings only." If someone should not create listings, hold off on the invite for now, or keep listing work on your account.
What teammates can do, and what stays locked
Etsy’s owner help article lays this out plainly. Teammates can:
- Manage orders, including adding tracking, buying shipping labels, and marking orders as shipped
- Create, edit, and publish listings
- View and reply to buyer messages
They cannot:
- Cancel or refund orders
- Delete or deactivate listings
- View bank details, earnings, or anything in Finances
- Open marketing, stats, settings, apps, or performance
- Send, manage, or remove Shared Access invites

If a teammate breaks Etsy policy inside your shop, Etsy still holds you responsible. That is the trade for getting help without handing over your password.
Invite rules that trip up busy shops
Before you email your VA, run the eligibility list. Etsy says invitees must be at least 18 and must turn on two-factor authentication before they can accept. Their email cannot already be tied to another Etsy shop, including a draft shop. It also cannot be tied to an order from your shop that is still inside its return window.
One more shop-floor limit: one Etsy account can only associate with one shop at a time, including drafts. If the same person helps two of your brands, they need a separate email and Etsy account for each shop.
Invites expire after seven days. Right now, invite and accept only work on Etsy.com. The Seller app cannot manage Shared Access yet.

How to set it up this week
- Open Shop Manager on Etsy.com. Go to Settings, then Shared access, then Invite team member.
- Use a work email that is not tied to another shop or draft, and not tied to a recent purchase from you.
- Tell them to finish 2FA before they hit Accept. Invites die after seven days.
- After they join, download activity once so you know where the CSV lands and what it shows.
- Write a one-page SOP: which queues they own (messages, labels, new listings), and which tasks stay with you (refunds, deactivations, finances, ads).
- When the contract or season ends, remove access from the same Shared access page. Do not "just change the password" and hope.

Who should use this first
